It seems people who used Adobe, primarily, struggle a little bit when trying to learn OT and tend to dislike it initially.Īs a novice hobbyist animator, I've only used OpenToonz but I watched and learned a bit from a YouTube animator who used Flash. ![]() OpenToonz is more similar to Toonboom, I believe, so if you had to go from one to the other it would likely be an easier transition. Have you also considered TvPaint?įrom what I've seen, OpenToonz coupled with some other free software have helped people move away from Adobe Animate. I'm sure you will find people who hate or love each of these animation software. □ Caveat to free is it can have stability issues, but it's always improving with each release. If you don't have the money to burn, the obvious choice would be OpenToonz as it's free compared to the other 2. ![]()
